Digital Compass on X10???

Postby AK88 » Wed Apr 21, 2010 10:44 am

Some sites have mentioned the X10 having a digital compass. At first I thought it'd be like the one on the iphone, but then I realized there wasn't a pre-installed compass app. I'm wondering is this meant to be a compass whose heading is determined by the GPS?? Or does it really have a digital compass capability like the iphone?

The X10 has a built in magnetometer and can utilise apps like the digital and analogue compass' on the market.

Yes, it has a magnetometer. Check out the Compass app to see it in action.

On my phone there is an app called, Rashinban, that came pre-installed on my X10. It's a digital compass, and as I turn it shows me which direction I'm facing along with the distance that I am from major landmarks in the direction that I'm facing.

Search Compass in Market. Almost the same as the iPhone version

Wow! Thanks, Keiko. I didn't know Rashinban did all that -- and more. It is an augmented reality compass.
