Qik for Android gets 480p video support on Xperia X10

Qik for AndroidThe video recording/sharing application, Qik for Android, has recently been updated. The new version (0.1.93) includes, among a number of bug fixes, 480p (800 x 480) video support for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.

For those that haven’t tried it, Qik is a superb app that allows you to share video around you with any family/friends on the internet. The UI is intuitive and it works as advertised, the best news of all is that it’s free. Check it out in the Android Market now.

  1. Just tested this on my new X10 and looks far better than the videos uploaded from my G1 phone a month or 2 back. Yay X10’s 😀

  2. I tried to convert a HD video to this resolution in MP4 and i must say it was a little bit laggy with the default X10 player.
Do you think this Qik player will improve the quality and speed of the video?

  3. Greg, the Qik app is for recording and uploading videos not for playback.

I have an app called YXFlash that plays xvid/divx and mp4 files pretty well (available on Android Market) but the ones recorded usign Qik on on the X10 should play back via the inbuilt video player fine.
