Has anyone had the OTA update come through to the notification bar yet?
I haven't had this notification and when I went onto SE website to the update section it says that there is no new updates for X10....

I'm in the UK on Orange network....

Im pretty noob with the whole rooting thing, but I even managed to do it and have the R2 rom now, as well as a rooted phone

Does anyone know if doing any of this voids warranty of the handset?
And will I be able to get the update any quicker if I do ROOT or Debrand?

You void the warranty if you root, however you can easily revert back so it's not so much of an issue.

Same goes for debranding, you can easily go back to your current version (as long as you backup the files as per the tutorial).

hey guys,

Need and advice. I purchased a sim-free phone from expansys. The secret menu shows the country as Germany. When I initially purchased it was on the .14 firmware. As I was aware of the .16 firmware i connected the phone to SEUS and it immediately shows there is an update available. hence updated to build number R1FA016. Now, I checked with SEUS if the latest update( which I need really badly) is available for my phone. This being a sim-free phone will I get OTA update?
Should I wait or change the firmware to UK generic manually?

Can anyone confirm you can choose dutch on this english firmware?
I wan't to update and i'm afraid it's gonna take forever before this update will roll out in The Netherlands.
if possible, i'll debrand the phone and update.

Going to give this a go as soon as I'm home from work....
See if I can update through the phone setting/about phone etc...

Will use one of the backup apps just in case though...

Will let you know how I get on in a couple of hours! :D
