The Sony Ericsson Xperia 10 will land on all major Australian carriers by May. Optus, Telstra, Vodafone and Three will carry the Xperia X10 starting from later this month. It will be available on contract as well as sim-free.
Tim Barnes, Head of Marketing for Sony Ericsson’s Oceania region said that the Xperia X10 will arrive “towards the end of this month.” He went on to say that “all the carriers will launch it around the same time. However, they have slightly different test processes so that could change how quickly things get to market”.
The models carried by Optus and Vodafone will support both the 2100MHz and 900MHz 3G bands, while Telstra and Three will get an X10 built for 2100MHz and 850MHz (Next G).
SE is expected to give the X10 a major marketing push on release. Barnes describes the phone as “our hero handset”. If you don’t fancy buying the phone on contract than you should be able to get it contract free for $1,099.
