So i cant seem to find an answer to my question anywhere, Ok so im in Australia, and i have x10a which was ra...023 branded to Local network here 'Telstra'. i have since de-branded it a couple weeks ago via XDAs tutorial, so now my model info reads: Model: X10a, Country: Generic LAM (b), Brand: Customized. Phone software R2BA026 GENERIC. i am still running android 1.6, and do have patience for android 2.1 well some patience i was just wondering does my handset still come under 'australias release' of 2.1 or what country does it relate too now?

dont think you understand what im talking about dude, im trying to update my handset to 2.1. so it has been debranded to specs i posted earlier, and when i try to update via SEUS it always says my phones software is upto date (running 1.6), so im asking is this XDA firmware i have used to debrand my phone originate from a certain country? or because im in australia and its originally an australian branded handset i will get the 2.1 update when australia does?

Check your phone's service menu to see which country your phone currently belongs to.If it says Nordic , you can get it updated to 2.1 by SEUS & if it says any other country like UK , Australia or just any country except Nordic , then you either need to re flash using the Nordic flash tool provided by Bin4ry in XDA & get the 2.1 or just wait until the update is available for your handset's region.

Your handset's service menu must show " Nordic " before you can update to 2.1 by SEUS at least for now until the other areas are covered.

U20i means you have an X10 Mini Pro.Then you will need to wait for some time more because this specific Nordic Flash which is released in XDA forums is ONLY for the big X10i model , not the Mini Pro Models.You need to wait until they or SE releases 2.1 Update for your Mini Pro.DO NOT TRY TO FLASH A MINI PRO WITH AN X10i FLASH EVER.

As i said in my previous post already , you will need to wait for SE to release 2.1 for the generic version.You CAN NOT get the 2.1 now until you have flashed it using Nordic Flash tool irrespective of the fact that you already Debranded it.

In short , to get the 2.1 Update NOW , you will need to flash it Nordic.Does not matter you have a Branded or Debranded phone but SEUS will ONLY allow you to update to 2.1 if you flash it using the Nordic Flash tool first before running the SEUS.Otherwise wait for the official 2.1 update for your country if you do not want to reflash it..

not really to bothered about flashing to nordic, i can wait for the update. so now i know my handset 2.1 update will come out when SE releases the 'global generic' one then. which will be?? anyone?? so at least its gonna be a shitload quicker than waiting for telstra to stuff around with it first. cheers

its also got me thinking, as it seems like they are releasing 2.1 gradually to smaller communities first i guess to test it on the market, so im assuming ill be waiting a while before they release it for the generic global firmware market then?
