Re: Offline GPS

I've just tried this and it worked perfectly - I even got the lovely Emma's English voice.

Can I just confirm that, if I don't mark the assisted GPS setting on the phone, this is running free of charge, except the cost of charging the phone battery...?

Many thanks, Zleepy!

Ok guys, installed copilot and just wanted to know how to use it in offline mode? Maybe a stupid question but being a first time user thought I'd ask the easy questions first?

cheers

If you are gonna use GPS software you will have to activate the GPS or else the program like CoPilot Live will not find your position...
and no, you will not have a problem with the licence, cause the program link is "the real" program, just download it, install, download maps trough wifi so it dont use up
to much data from your operator, then just run it...

i have used it for 2months now and no problem :) works great!

I downloaded Co-Pilot fine but have a strange issue when using it on my mini.

I can't type letters only numbers into the destination box.

Unfortunately this makes it pretty useless :(

I have just downloaded the CoPilot 8 Live to my laptop and wondered how to get it on my X10i please? I have only just got the phone and I am not up to speed with the OS yet. I have had only Nokia phones for the last 20 years so it is a learning curve using the Android OS for me. I am not very teccy minded so please explain in easy to understand instructions.
Thank you in advance.

Download the BARCODE SCANNER from the market and scan the pic below :)
then the phone will download CoPilot 8 to your phone, just install and download maps trough WiFi and then navigate :)

Thanks Man, It the best GPS software("FREE") for X10 , it work in Malaysia.

P/S I got error message when I tried to download Malaysia Map but when I download the Singapore Map and I get both, Singapore and Malaysia MAP.

After u install that software make sure u switch off ur X10 and then switch on back. Or in other u must reboot ur X10 in order to make it run properly.

Hi zleepy,
You may think I am a little bit cheeky but I thought I would ask you as you seem to be in the know. My son in law has an Iphone and he is loving the Copilot on my phone, so he wants to know if he is able to get the Copilot on his phone for free like most of the members on here? What I was thinking would the barcode on here work with his phone, he has the barcode scanner on his Iphone (I downloaded it yesterday for him)? We are both as dumb as each other when it comes to our phones. We love all things teccy but are scared to death when it comes to installing and deleting stuff on them. I have looked on the web to try and find the app for free without much success, so I thought I would ask you first before I try looking again. I have just spent 2 weeks getting the Garmin Mobile XT on my sons Nokia E63 but finally I managed it. I don't like being defeated by these little machines so I am quite stubborn and am like a dog with a bone once I get started on something.

I think my family must think I have nothing better to do than sort their phones out for them, lol. I love it really though, but don't tell them (I have a feeling they might already know) :P

Thank you in advance.

regards

This software is for android, and i dont think it works on Iphone, cause it's another OS..
you can try, but i don't think it will work...

and then you dont have to be afraid to try things with the phone, you can always make a master reboot (make it like new)
and if you uninstall something you can always install it again, a smartphone is like a computer, but just smaller size :)

Have fun and play! :)

Re: Offline GPS

Postby MuttKick » Thu Aug 05, 2010 4:58 pm

Hi everybody.

Why is my copilot hanging up on the startup page or sometimes starts to sturtup page and shuts down right away.
I have been fiddling with it for the last couple of weeks.
I downloaded, installed, uninstalled redownloaded and so on... nothing seems to fix the freezing.

The first day I installed it it worked for a few minutes than it stoped and I cannot seem to be able to use it since.

Any help would be great.
