Waze automatically downloads maps for your most common routes and your neighborhood (or your whole city depending on how bit it is).
It is not perfect, but I never had any problems with 3g holes and stuff like that.

Plus, its free and it doesn't only show the map, but also the current trafic on each road always taking you through the fastest road

Mine seems to be all right on 2.1, though the screen does go swirly for a while, unlike under 1.6.

One quick question. The location and security settings have changed a bit under 2.1. Under 1.6, you could turn off assisted GPS and be sure that using the GPS would be free of data transmission charges. Under 2.1, there are 2 things you can tick - 'Use wireless networks' and 'Use GPS satellites'. I thought that by not ticking the wireless networks box it should be free (except for lots of battery charging!) but there is a warning that pops up when activating 'Usde GPS satellites, which says: "Data transmission charges may apply. Anonymous data willl be collected when an application uses GPS".

I'm not worried about anonymous databeing collected, but would there really be data tramsmission charges...?

Thanks for any advice and help. :)

Try to turn off the data and test it with Offline maps to figure out whether that is true :)

How did you solve that? Mine does it in landscape mode but I have never got it to come good at all, fine in portrait mode tho.

I think its a bug in the app. Some googling turned up that its its a problem on another phone. They released a newer version to fix the problem. I tried it but ran into licensing issuues...

Oh well, it's good to know that we're not just pushing the wrong buttons or something... :)

Portrait mode it is, for now.

Seems to be an application incompatibility with 2.1 to work in landscape. This was working fine when using 1.6.

Hi guys,

I'm after this CoPilot live for Australia. Where can I download it from please? I'm after GPS navigation offline (without data usage please).

Thanks

Hi everyone, :)
I have asked for help in the past and always managed to get my problem solved. Well I have another one for you. I have tried to install Copilot on my husband phone and it says "INVALID LIBRARY Copliot cannot be loaded by the system". Is there anyone out there that can help me on this please :?: Oh :!: I forgot to say his phone was 2.1 when it went back to the manufacturer and when it arrived back it is a 2.2. I have loaded it before for him (and it worked brilliantly with no probs at all) and then his phone broke, we sent it back and they replaced, so now I have to reinstall everything for him.

So any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

regards

Try Sygic Mobile Map 10, works great on x10, and easy to find updated maps.

Hi eyao70
Could you tell me if that gps can be installed as a free app, same as copilot. I went on the website and it asks you to buy it. Or have i got it wrong?
Thank you in advance.
